Storage Colindale Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Storage Colindale has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or in our supply chains. It applies to all operations conducted under the Storage Colindale name.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Colindale maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any supplier found to be involved in modern slavery will face immediate review of our relationship, which may lead to suspension or termination of contracts.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Colindale provides storage services and related support activities. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, property maintenance, cleaning, security services, equipment, utilities, and office supplies. We recognise that risks associated with modern slavery can arise at any point in these supply chains, particularly where there are multiple tiers of subcontracting or where sourcing occurs in higher risk sectors or regions.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and service providers to comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws, and to uphold standards consistent with our own zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. Our commercial agreements and onboarding processes reinforce these expectations.
Storage Colindale is working to strengthen supplier due diligence and monitoring through proportionate audits and checks. These may include pre-engagement questionnaires, requests for evidence of labour standards policies, and on-site assessments where appropriate. We prioritise review of suppliers in higher risk categories, such as facilities management and outsourced labour services.
Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we may require corrective action plans, follow-up audits, or other remedial measures. Continued failure to meet our standards may result in the ending of the business relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and related measures rests with the senior management of Storage Colindale. Managers are responsible for promoting awareness of the risks of modern slavery within their teams and ensuring that relevant procedures are followed.
We aim to provide appropriate training for key employees, particularly those involved in procurement, facilities management, and supplier engagement. This training helps them identify indicators of modern slavery, understand reporting routes, and incorporate ethical considerations into purchasing decisions.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Storage Colindale encourages anyone who becomes aware of, or suspects, any form of modern slavery in our operations or supply chains to report their concerns as soon as possible. Reports can be made to line managers or to senior management. Individuals raising concerns in good faith will not suffer any detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
All reports will be treated seriously and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we will work with relevant authorities and agencies to address confirmed instances of modern slavery or related abuses.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Colindale recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility and that risks can evolve over time. We are committed to continuous improvement in our policies, risk assessments, and due diligence processes so that we can respond effectively to emerging challenges.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once each year by senior management to assess its effectiveness and to identify areas for enhancement. Revisions will take account of changes in our business operations, lessons learned from audits and investigations, and developments in law and good practice.
This statement represents Storage Colindale's position on modern slavery for the current financial year and will be updated annually to reflect our progress and ongoing commitments.
